We are excited to provide an update on the highly successful health workshop organized under the leadership of First Lady Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur at the Raj Bhavan Auditorium. The workshop, led by Dr. Sumita Prabhakar, an esteemed expert in Gynecology and Obstetrics and President of Can Protect Foundation, aimed to raise awareness and promote preventive measures against breast and cervical cancer among women.
During the workshop, Dr. Sumita Prabhakar delivered two insightful lectures. The first lecture focused on midlife health management, specifically addressing the challenges of menopause and providing valuable guidance on optimizing overall well-being during this transitional phase. The second lecture centered around cancers in women, offering comprehensive information on different types of cancers, early detection methods, and preventive strategies.
Dr. Sumita Prabhakar introduced the attendees to Canapp, an exceptional mobile application designed to educate women on proper Breast Self-Exams (BSE). Canapp is a user-friendly app available in multiple languages, including Garhwali, Kumauni, Jaunsari, Avadhi, Hindi, and English. It can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store, ensuring accessibility for all.
To ensure a thorough understanding of BSE and its correct execution, Dr. Sumita Prabhakar utilized demonstrative videos, providing step-by-step guidance on conducting a proper breast self-exam. She emphasized the importance of early detection and breast cancer prevention through regular self-examinations.
Dr. Sumita Prabhakar expresses her heartfelt gratitude to the visionary leadership and support of First Lady Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur in organizing this impactful workshop. She also extends her gratitude to Dr. Harleen Sandhu for their valuable contributions and dedication to women’s health. Their combined efforts have played a pivotal role in raising awareness and empowering women in Uttarakhand.
Can Protect Foundation remains dedicated to empowering women and raising awareness about critical health issues. We are grateful to all participants whose active involvement contributed to the resounding success of this workshop.
